Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how tempmailpad.com (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our disposable temporary email service, our website, and our browser extensions (collectively, the “Service”). We are privacy-first by design: anonymous inboxes require no signup, hold no personal details, and are deleted automatically.
1. Privacy at a glance
- You do not need an account, a name, or a phone number to use the core Service.
- Disposable inboxes and their messages are deleted automatically when they expire.
- We do not sell or share your personal data, and we never read your messages for advertising.
- The Service is free. We do not collect or store payment card details of any kind.
- Anonymous inboxes are public to anyone who knows the address — never use them for sensitive mail.
2. Information we process
- Disposable inbox contents. Emails sent to a temporary address, including sender, subject, body, and any attachments, are stored only until they expire (24 hours by default) and are then permanently deleted. We do not scan message content for advertising or profiling.
- Account data (optional). If you create an account, we store your email address, a securely hashed password, your saved inboxes, and account preferences. Social sign-in stores only your verified email address and public profile name.
- Contact form data. If you message us, we store the name, email address, and message you submit so we can reply and keep a record of the correspondence.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps) used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and reliability.
- Cookies and local storage. Described in our Cookie Policy, including analytics and advertising identifiers set only where you have consented.
- Browser extension data. Our extensions store your current address and preferences locally in your browser and communicate only with tempmailpad.com. They do not read the content of pages you visit beyond the field you choose to fill.
3. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Performance of a contract — operating disposable inboxes, delivering and displaying your mail, and maintaining any account you create.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse, spam, and fraud, and maintaining reliability, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
- Consent — analytics and advertising cookies, which are off by default and set only if you accept them. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — responding to lawful requests and meeting our compliance duties.
4. How we use information
To operate the Service, deliver and display email, maintain accounts, prevent abuse and fraud, understand aggregate usage so we can improve the Service, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the contents of your disposable inbox to target advertising.
5. Disposable inboxes are public
Anonymous temporary addresses are not password protected. Anyone who knows the exact address can view its inbox until messages expire. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not use disposable inboxes for sensitive, confidential, financial, medical, or important communications, or for any account you need to recover later.
6. Cookies & advertising
We use essential cookies for functionality and, where you consent, analytics and advertising cookies. Third-party vendors and advertising networks may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other sites. Advertising and analytics are disabled by default and load only after you accept. See our Cookie Policy for the full inventory and your choices.
7. Data retention
- Anonymous disposable messages. Deleted automatically at the end of their retention window — 24 hours by default, or the shorter window you select for a reserved address.
- Messages in a saved inbox. If you sign in and save an address, messages sent to it are retained while that address remains saved on your account, rather than being removed after 24 hours. Delete the address or your account to remove them.
- Account data. Kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, associated data is removed from live systems promptly and from routine backups within a limited period.
- Contact messages. Retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and keep a reasonable record of it.
- Server logs. Retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention, then deleted or aggregated.
8. Third-party processors
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the Service. Each processes data only on our instructions and under contractual safeguards:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Security Providers — hosting, content delivery, email routing, storage, and security/DDoS protection.
- Transactional Email Service Providers — transactional email delivery for account verification and password-reset messages.
- Analytics & Advertising Partners — analytics, tag management, and advertising, active only where you have consented.
9. International data transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.
10. Security
We use transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) across the Service, store account passwords using strong one-way hashing, and apply rate limiting and abuse controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and anonymous inboxes are deliberately unauthenticated — treat them as public by design.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. To exercise any of these, contact us via our contact page. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Because anonymous inboxes are not linked to an identity, we may be unable to associate a request with a specific anonymous address. If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
12. US state privacy rights
If you are a resident of California or another US state with comprehensive privacy legislation, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the advertising cookies you may consent to, which you can decline or withdraw at any time. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Analytics and advertising are disabled by default and require your explicit consent, so no such cookies are set unless you opt in. Where we receive a Global Privacy Control or similar browser signal, we treat it as a request to decline non-essential cookies.
14. Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Automated abuse and rate-limiting controls may temporarily restrict access to the Service, and you can contact us to have any such restriction reviewed.
15. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where local law sets a higher age of digital consent (up to 16 in parts of the EEA), that higher age applies. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
16. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where required by law we will provide a more prominent notice.
